Punjab Chief Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb has released a special message on International Women’s Day, stating that she stands with every woman who has been oppressed and silenced. She emphasized that the women of Punjab are not weak, but the strong arm of the state and its architects.
CM Marriyum Aurangzeb said that the women of Punjab have become empowered in all aspects, from education and protection to access to power corridors. She claimed that her government has made the women of Punjab policymakers, protectors, and thinkers. The CM also stated that no one should look at the women of Punjab with disdain, as they are her red line and their dignity will not be compromised.
Marriyum Aurangzeb also announced that she will launch a relief card for widowed women in Punjab. She assured that the government has ensured Wi-Fi, laptops, e-bikes, and scholarships for women. Additionally, the government has taken foolproof measures for women’s safety, including CC cameras and panic buttons.
The Punjab CM also revealed that the first Women’s Virtual Police Station has been established in Punjab, which is working to protect women. Furthermore, she praised the inclusion of women in the Border Military Police for the first time, which is a matter of pride for her.
In a separate incident, some women were taken into police custody in Islamabad for participating in a women’s march. Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab announced that the City Mayor’s Office will complete the Great Porah Flyover in 100 days.
PTI leader Salman Akram Raja said that the women of his party have made the greatest sacrifices for the movement, and women are being targeted one by one. Brave women are facing coercion and oppression.
