The United States President Donald Trump has stated that the country will not use nuclear weapons in the ongoing conflict against Iran. Trump made the announcement during a media briefing at the White House, asserting that he does not see any reason to use nuclear arms, as traditional warfare has already been successfully employed to neutralize the enemy.
“We’ve already eliminated the traditional war option by using conventional warfare,” Trump said. “I don’t think anyone should ever use nuclear weapons. We want the best possible deal with Iran, and we can get it quickly, but we want it to be a permanent deal.”
Trump emphasized that the United States will not rush into a long-term peace agreement with Iran, despite the ongoing conflict. “I don’t know how long it will take to get a long-term peace agreement with Iran,” Trump said. “Don’t try to force me to make a decision quickly. We will wait for the right time.”
Trump also stated that Iran may have attempted to reload its missiles during the week-long ceasefire, but the US military could neutralize them in almost a day. “Iran’s navy is gone, their air force is gone, their anti-aircraft systems are gone,” Trump said.
