Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has stated that the country has been trying to live in good neighborly relations with Afghanistan for the past three years. However, he emphasizes that Pakistan has no interest in Afghanistan and that their relationship has not been as cordial as expected. In an exclusive interview with Geo News from Sialkot, Khawaja Asif further stated that the Afghan people have been treated with hospitality for the past 50 years, but that there is no more expectation to be met.
“We have been trying to resolve the issue through dialogue, but the situation has become unbearable. What they are holding onto is unacceptable, not only today but also in the past and in the future,” said Khawaja Asif.
The Defense Minister also expressed his concerns about the recent tensions between Iran and the US-Israeli alliance, stating that the situation in the Strait of Hormuz is not normal. He suggested that if there were any disruptions in the supply chain, the consequences would be dire, including rising inflation.
Khawaja Asif urged the nation to pray for an end to the current tensions and for a peaceful resolution to the conflict. He also emphasized that Iran is a brotherly country and that Pakistan is committed to its safety and security.
