Lahore’s judicial magistrate, Arshad Hussain, has granted a 5-day physical remand of a mother accused of murdering her three children. The police had requested a 14-day physical remand, stating that they needed to conduct DNA, polygraphic, and medical tests on the suspect. The police claim that the parents were not at home when the incident occurred, and further investigation is underway.
Earlier, the suspect was seen on CCTV footage in the Achihrah area of Lahore, where the triple murder took place. The police say that the suspect can be seen leaving the street in the CCTV footage and later returning to the neighborhood, where she made a phone call to 15 people.
The post-mortem examination of the three siblings, Mominah Batool, 5, Momin Rehman, 4, and Amm Habiba, 1.5 years old, has been completed, and their bodies have been handed over to their relatives, who have taken them to their ancestral village in Jhang.
It is worth noting that the three children were brutally murdered by being strangled with a sharp object. The investigation revealed that the suspect was the mother of the children, who had confessed to the crime during the initial investigation.
