Islamabad, Pakistan – The chairman of Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), Major General (R) Muhammad Aslam Ghumman, has declared that the country’s access to the 5G spectrum is a significant milestone. He expressed his gratitude to all institutions that have made this possible during the inauguration ceremony of the 5G spectrum auction in Islamabad. The PTA chief emphasized that the 5G spectrum auction has been made possible through the collective efforts of all institutions.
Speaking at the ceremony, Major General (R) Muhammad Aslam Ghumman stated that the 5G digital highway is a vital component for Pakistan, marking a new era for the country. He mentioned that Pakistan is the first country in Asia to have abolished right-of-way charges, which have been reduced to zero from 36,000 rupees per kilometer.
Major General (R) Muhammad Aslam Ghumman also highlighted the government’s efforts to facilitate the industry, saying that all possible measures have been taken to support the industry. He expressed hope that the industry will participate extensively in the upcoming court proceedings.
