Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan – In a series of operations conducted in various regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistani security forces have killed 13 terrorists affiliated with the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), a militant group backed by India. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the security forces conducted operations based on intelligence inputs on March 6 and 7 in different regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The ISPR stated that the operations were conducted during five separate encounters at five different locations, resulting in the deaths of 13 terrorists. The ISPR further added that during an operation conducted in Bajaur District based on intelligence inputs, the hideout of the terrorists was effectively targeted, resulting in the deaths of 5 terrorists. In separate operations conducted in Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan, 3 more terrorists were killed. Additionally, in two separate encounters in Khyber and South Waziristan, 5 terrorists were killed.
This is not the first time that Pakistani security forces have conducted operations against TTP terrorists in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. In October 2023, the security forces conducted operations in different regions of the province, killing several TTP terrorists. The ISPR also stated that during the operations, arms and ammunition were recovered from the terrorists.
The ISPR further added that despite the challenges on the Afghanistan border, the operations against terrorism will continue. The security forces are determined and resolute in defending the country’s borders. The ISPR also stated that the operation against the TTP terrorists will continue until their complete elimination.
The Minister of Interior, Mohsin Nayyar, has praised the security forces for their successful operations against the TTP terrorists. He stated that the security forces have once again foiled the nefarious plans of the TTP terrorists in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In a separate development, a group of women were arrested by the police in Islamabad while participating in a protest march. The women were protesting against the government’s policies and were demanding their rights.
In a statement, the Mayor of Karachi, Murtaza Wahab, stated that the city’s municipal authority will complete the construction of a flyover in 100 days. The flyover is a major infrastructure project in the city.
