The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has reported four fatalities, including two Pakistanis, after a missile strike in the Al Bershah area of Dubai. This development brings the total number of deaths to four, with the other two being a Nepali and a Bangladeshi national.
According to the UAE’s Ministry of Defense, a total of 238 ballistic missiles have been fired at the UAE since Iran’s attacks began, with 1422 drones, 8 cruise missiles, and 17 ballistic missiles fired on the UAE today. Authorities claim that 112 drones were detected, with 109 shot down in the air, and 3 confirmed to have crashed on UAE soil. Additionally, 16 missiles and 113 drones were deemed unsuccessful, with one missile and 4 drones crashing into the sea.
In response to the escalating situation, Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif expressed condolences over the loss of two Pakistani lives. Zardari stated that the ongoing tensions in the Middle East pose a threat to global peace and stability, urging the international community to take immediate action. He further emphasized that the region’s conflicts can be resolved through diplomacy and tolerance, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace and respect for international law.
Meanwhile, in Pakistan, women participating in an anti-government march in Islamabad were detained by police. Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab announced that the city’s main flyover, the Great Porphar Flyover, will be completed within 100 days.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Salman Akram Raja criticized the government’s handling of the situation, stating that women have made the greatest sacrifices for the party. MQM-Pakistan Chairman Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said that those who have lost sight of politics’ true purpose should be let go.
Former Finance Minister Miftah Ismail accused the government of favoring oil companies over the public. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz released a special message on International Women’s Day.
In another development, the government has confiscated a significant amount of equipment and arms, including four IEDs and a border-cutting device, which are believed to be linked to foreign-backed terrorists. The authorities have announced plans to register vehicles without insurance and impose a token tax, effective immediately.
A crackdown on organized crime and gangs in Islamabad resulted in the arrest of four suspects. Despite challenges along the Afghanistan border, anti-terrorism operations continue. Dry weather is expected in Islamabad over the next 24 hours.
In a separate development, the Deputy Commissioner of Karachi identified the deceased fisherman as Tayyab. Abbas Aragchi, an Iranian official, stated that Iran has not initiated a war but has taken countermeasures against Iranian attacks. The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed a desire to avoid involvement in any conflict or tension.
Since the Iran-UAE conflict began, over 1900 people have been injured in Israel, with many requiring hospitalization. The UAE has urged its Pakistani residents to refrain from sharing inflammatory content on social media.
