As the situation in Balochistan remains stable, the chairman of the Pakistan Ulema Council, Allama Tahir Ashrafi, has expressed his satisfaction with the current state of affairs. He emphasized that the security of the nation is paramount and that the Pakistani army is effectively countering the threat of terrorism. Allama Ashrafi stressed that the goal of the National Peace Committee is to promote unity and brotherhood, and that peaceful protests are a fundamental right of every citizen.
During his three-day visit to Quetta, Allama Ashrafi met with the provincial government and security officials. He commended the efforts of the security forces in maintaining law and order, stating that the enemy cannot compete with the army in the battlefield, and therefore, resorts to terrorism. He added that the state is committed to protecting its citizens at all costs.
On a separate note, the Pakistan Air Force has been granted permission to operate two daily flights to the United Arab Emirates. Additionally, the Field Marshal was briefed on the security situation on the western border, as well as the progress of Operation Ghadab-e-Haqq.
The Inspector General of Police, Sindh, Javed Alam Odho, has expressed satisfaction with the performance of the Sindh Police in Operation Nijat-e-Mehran. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has condemned the Israeli aggression on Lebanon and spoken to the Lebanese Prime Minister, Najib Mikati.
The Ministry of Meteorology has predicted that March 2026 will see below-average rainfall and above-average temperatures.
Separately, it has been reported that an Afghan Taliban commander was killed in a drone strike in Jalalabad. The remnants of the missile that struck a Turkish town near the Mediterranean Sea have been recovered without any casualties.
In a separate incident, three American officials have claimed that a US drone struck an Iranian warship near Sri Lanka. The Iranian Ministry of Intelligence has reportedly indicated a willingness to negotiate with the CIA to end the conflict.
