Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the leader of Maulana Fazlur Rehman Group, recommended including the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and opposition parties in the briefing. He suggested that Pakistan should engage in dialogue with Afghanistan and neighboring countries to improve the situation.
The meeting also touched upon the recent surge in military operations against militants in the country. The Inspector General of Sindh Police, Javed Odho, expressed satisfaction with the performance of Operation Nijat Meraan. The meeting also discussed the recent phone call between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Lebanon’s Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, in which Sharif condemned Israel’s aggression against Lebanon.
The government announced that it would summon the opposition leaders and PTI to a joint parliamentary meeting to discuss the security situation. The meeting also discussed the recent surge in electricity prices, with the government announcing a 1.63 rupee increase in the price of electricity per unit.
Furthermore, the meeting discussed the military’s operations against militants, with sources revealing that the military had targeted militant and terrorist hideouts based on intelligence reports. The government also announced that it would hold a joint parliamentary session to discuss the situation in the Middle East and Afghanistan.
