WASHINGTON, DC –
US President Donald Trump has issued a stark ultimatum to the Palestinian group Hamas, giving them until 6 pm on Sunday, Washington, D.C., time, to accept his proposed plan for Gaza. The president warned that failure to comply would result in “unprecedented devastation” for the organization.
Writing on his Truth Social platform Friday, President Trump delivered the warning: “An agreement must be reached with Hamas by Sunday evening at SIX (6) P.M., Washington, D.C. time. Every Country has signed on! If this LAST CHANCE agreement is not reached, all HELL, like no one has ever seen before, will break out against Hamas.”
The final deadline follows an earlier statement by Trump on Tuesday, where he indicated Hamas would be given “three to four days” to agree to a 20-point framework that centrally demands the group disarm. Sources close to Hamas confirmed Wednesday that the group was reviewing the proposal.
The 20-Point Framework and Regional Commitments
The comprehensive plan calls for several critical steps: an immediate and permanent ceasefire, the exchange of all hostages held by Hamas for Palestinian prisoners in Israeli custody, a phased Israeli troop withdrawal from Gaza, the disarmament of Hamas, and the introduction of a transitional government led by an international body.
In his online message, Trump urged innocent Palestinians in Gaza to evacuate to safe zones, stating the deal would “preserve the lives” of remaining Hamas fighters provided all hostages were released.
He also claimed that the “great nations of the Middle East” had agreed to establish peace with the US and Israel after 3,000 years, and that regional peace would be achieved “regardless of the circumstances.”
Concluding his message with a direct threat, Trump asserted that Hamas was now surrounded and being given a final opportunity. “We know who you are and where you are,” he wrote. “You will be hunted down and killed.”
