Sri Lanka Cricket’s (SLC) president, Shammi Silva, has resigned from his position, effective immediately. The SLC has also announced that its executive committee members have tendered their resignations in conjunction with Silva’s departure. According to sources, Silva and the executive committee members have informed the Minister of Sports, Sujith Senanayake, of their decisions.
In a separate development, the interim administration will take over the responsibilities of the SLC. Media outlets in Sri Lanka have reported that banker Ernest Wickramaratne is a strong contender to take over the duties of the SLC.
In other news, Pakistan’s cricket team has had a successful season in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). In a thrilling match against Islamabad United, star batsman Babar Azam scored 103 runs, including four sixes and 12 fours.
