Karachi: In anticipation of a potential protest in Karachi, orders have been issued to tighten security arrangements across the city. According to sources, a protest is expected to take place on Shahrah-e-Faisal.
MQM London (Altaf Hussain Group) has announced its support for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s call for a protest. In response, the IG Sindh has instructed all SHOs and DSPs to remain present at their respective police stations.
In various areas of Karachi, the police have been fully alerted to handle any emergency situation. Additionally, mobile phone services have been partially suspended in several areas of the city.
IG Sindh has also ordered the cancellation of all police personnel’s weekly holidays to manage any untoward incidents.
