Islamabad: Former ambassador Maleeha Lodhi has stated that if there is an attack on Iran, oil prices will increase, and the Democrats know that if oil becomes expensive, Trump could benefit from it.
In a discussion on ARY News program “Khabar,” former ambassador Maleeha Lodhi mentioned that we first need to see how the situation in the Middle East unfolds and where Pakistan stands in relation to it.
She noted that the situation in the Middle East will not only affect Pakistan but the entire region, and it remains to be seen who will play a role in achieving a ceasefire in the Middle East.
She explained that elections are approaching in the U.S., and the country is strongly supporting Israel. However, an attack on Iran in collaboration with Israel seems difficult, as the U.S. government is also divided in response to Iranian attacks.
The former ambassador added that some members of the U.S. administration believe that silence should be maintained, while others argue that this is the right time to attack Iran.
