In a landmark judgment, the Sindh High Court’s Constitutional Bench has directed the provincial government to grant employment to five job seekers under the deceased quota. The court made this decision during the hearing of cases related to the deceased quota, stating that the right acquired under the quota cannot be terminated, and the Supreme Court’s decision will not apply to past cases.
During the hearing, the lawyer argued that the Departmental Recruitment Committee had also recommended the appointments. The court stated that the identification card block affects education, health, employment, and banking facilities. The government lawyer claimed that the Supreme Court had canceled the appointments of the job seekers after its decision on the quota, making it impossible for them to get employed after the Supreme Court’s decision.
