Islamabad, Pakistan – A high-level meeting chaired by Federal Minister for Interior, Moazzam Jah Ansari, took place in Islamabad to discuss ongoing public projects in the capital city and to scrutinize new proposals. The meeting also resolved to digitalize all records of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) within 120 days. This move aims to allow citizens to track the status of their requests and to prevent any unauthorized housing societies from operating in Islamabad.
During the meeting, new projects, including a convention center, expo center, and Islamabad Arena, were directed to be completed before the SCO Summit. The Minister also announced plans to convert the Pakistan Railways’ land in Islamabad into a service center and to allocate land for the F-6 service center project. Additionally, work on promoting recreational facilities, such as a top golf course, hot air balloon, zip line, water park, and amusement park, was instructed to begin soon.
Minister Ansari emphasized that modern sports complexes will be built to promote sports activities in the city. The meeting also approved various departmental policies, including the notification of the Prime Minister’s approval for the audit objection related to the 4.6 billion rupee signature bonus. The Ministry of Law and Justice stated that the notification will be issued soon.
In other news, the National Judicial Policy Making Committee has issued guidelines for the use of Artificial Intelligence in courts. Speaking at a news conference, the Minister of Finance, Miftah Ismail, stated that the country’s economic growth is measured by GDP, and that the GDP has suffered the worst decline in the past four years.
The Tehreek-e-Tahaffuz-e-Pakistan (PTI) has expressed concern over the country’s economic situation and criticized the government for not updating the Prime Minister’s health status. Following the instructions of the Sindh government’s Board of Higher Education, the University of Karachi has taken action against ghost employees and those holding dual employment at the Liaquat Ali Khan Memorial University.
The Chairman of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) stated that the IMF’s report on Pakistan is completely baseless and that the IMF will never give a clean chit to the country. The Chairman also claimed that NAB’s three-month-long investigation in the world’s shortest period has exposed the IMF’s report.
In a separate development, the White House spokesperson stated that US President Donald Trump has assured that the US will not provide Iran with nuclear weapons.
