Iranian Army Chief, General Amir Hatami, has stated that the Iranian military is prepared to defend the nation at all costs, with fingers on the trigger, ready to make sacrifices and defend national sovereignty and security. This comes as the US advance team has arrived in Pakistan ahead of the second round of Iran-US negotiations.
According to sources, the US delegation is scheduled to meet in Islamabad on Friday evening, with the Iranian delegation yet to confirm its participation. The Iranian Army Chief emphasized that the nation’s armed forces, along with other branches of the military, are prepared to confront enemies in a decisive manner, while continuously increasing their military capabilities.
General Amir Hatami also stated that the Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s message has boosted the morale of military personnel, with Iran ready to protect its territory and ensure national sovereignty. Meanwhile, the Commander of the Iranian Aerospace Force has announced that missile launchers are being refurbished at a faster pace than before, during the ceasefire period.
In related news, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has recovered 1.45 billion Iranian rials from a suspect arrested in Karachi. Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister, Hafeez Shaikh, spoke with Iranian Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, over the phone. The Federal Minister for Planning, Ahsan Iqbal, stated that a political party had been claiming that Pakistan’s navy was sinking and had lost its capabilities.
In other developments, a police team was involved in a shootout with suspected robbers in Karachi, while a man in the city’s Bilawal Town allegedly shot and killed his former wife and two children. The Amir of the Jamaat-e-Islami, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, demanded that the price of petroleum be reduced to Rs 250.
The Governor of Sindh, Imran Ismail, stated that the infrastructure in Karachi was in a deplorable state, contradicting claims that there were no development projects in the city. The US media has reported that the Iranian delegation is expected to arrive in Islamabad on Monday, following which the US will send its delegation to the city.
US President, Donald Trump, announced that his representatives would be arriving in Islamabad on Friday evening, adding that they would be present for negotiations on Saturday. The President also stated that his administration would not repeat the mistakes of the Barack Obama era. The Chairman of the Pakistan Ulema Council, Hafiz Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi, urged Hajj pilgrims to adhere to the Saudi Arabia Ministry of Hajj and Umrah’s code of conduct.
The senior leader of the PML-N, Khawaja Saad Rafique, stated that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had saved the nation from default. The Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, emphasized that the unity of the political and military leadership was the guarantee of Pakistan’s strength.
