The President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), Atif Ikram Sheikh, has stated that a further decline in petroleum prices in the global market is expected to have positive effects on the economy. Atif Ikram Sheikh addressed the issue of Middle East peace talks and the reduction in petroleum product prices.
According to him, the peace talks hosted in Islamabad are a matter of pride for Pakistan and the Middle East, and a new hope for peace and stability has emerged globally. He added that Pakistan’s efforts for peace and stability in the region and joint progress are milestones, and it is believed that a lasting ceasefire and wider peace will emerge as a result of the talks between the US and Iran.
Atif Ikram Sheikh further stated that stability is necessary for sustainable economic growth, and the business community is ready to work with the government’s diplomatic efforts. He welcomed the recent reduction in petroleum prices announced by the Prime Minister and stated that a further decline in petroleum prices in the global market is expected, which will have positive effects on the economy, creating a favorable environment for trade activities, and converting diplomatic successes into economic successes.
