In a significant statement, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Saeed Afridi has assured that Afghan citizens in Pakistan will not be subjected to any form of harassment. During a media interaction in Khyber, Afridi emphasized that the Afghan refugees leaving for Afghanistan would be provided with complete facilities by the provincial government.
Afridi also stated that if his brother were involved in corruption, he should face punishment. He further added that the voluntary repatriation of Afghan nationals from across the country is underway, and action is being taken against Afghans residing illegally in the province. Afridi clarified that the expulsion of illegal Afghan nationals is a federal decision, which the provincial government is implementing, and that following federal decisions on national issues is a necessity.
Afridi also reiterated that Afghans are Pakistan’s “brothers and sisters” and that no one would be allowed to mistreat them.
