Pakistan is bracing for widespread rains and storms next week, with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) predicting thunderstorms and gusty winds across the country from March 17 to 25. The Met Office has confirmed that the city of Peshawar experienced a low temperature of 23.5 degrees Celsius on Thursday, while Karachi is expected to see a high temperature of 34-36 degrees Celsius. The Met Office has also warned of a 79% humidity level in Karachi, with winds blowing at a speed of 4 kilometers per hour from the southwest.
In a surprise development, Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar announced that the phone of PTI founder Imran Khan’s children will be opened on Eid day. The team has started collecting facts and records to ensure a fair and transparent fact-finding report, said Deputy Director of the Ministry of Human Rights.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Interior has confirmed that multiple cases have been registered against Bilawal Khan at various police stations, including charges of murder, robbery, and land grabbing. The Sindh Home Department has also issued a statement denying any involvement in the disappearance of a young woman from a Karachi hospital.
In other news, the Supreme Court has declared the Federal Service Tribunal’s decision of November 20, 2023, as null and void. The court held that the employees of the Cantonment Board do not deserve to be treated as civil servants. A TikTok creator and social media influencer, Sana Yousuf, has recorded a statement at the court in connection with the murder case of her daughter. The Islamabad High Court has also issued a notice to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, seeking a report on the sighting of the Eid moon.
Separately, the DG ISPR has claimed that the Afghan Taliban used drones supplied by India against Pakistan. In a separate incident, Israel’s military facilities were targeted in a series of missile attacks by Iran.
