Iran’s government has stated that it will not engage in talks that aim to pressure the country into surrendering. This statement was made by an Iranian official in an interview with a foreign news agency. The official said that the US must change its policy of using pressure and threats before any negotiations can be resumed. Pakistan is currently acting as a mediator in the situation, and is trying to convince the US to lift its blockade on Iranian ports.
The Iranian official also stated that Iran views the US actions as a breach of the ceasefire agreement. The official added that Iran is willing to cooperate with Pakistan to resolve the situation. In a separate statement, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi stated that the US attack on a tanker and taking the crew hostage is a significant breach of the ceasefire agreement.
Meanwhile, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bunting said that President Trump has made it clear that the US Navy will continue to blockade Iranian ports. French President Emmanuel Macron announced that a French official was killed in Lebanon.
