A disturbing case of family violence has come to light in the small town of Maadi Lak, Sargodha, where a woman claims her husband and in-laws subjected her to physical assault after she moved to Pakistan from Italy with her husband and son in September 2025. The victim alleged that her family members held her captive in their home for several months, subjecting her to physical abuse. A similar incident was reported in Lahore’s Brki area, where a woman was allegedly beaten to death by her relatives in a domestic dispute. The woman claimed she remained silent for days to avoid further violence, but eventually sought police help. According to the police, a case has been registered against the woman’s husband, father-in-law, and mother-in-law at the Jhal Chakiya police station.
The Punjab Police have set up special checking points on the internal and external roads of the city to ensure public safety. In a separate development, the Ministry of Energy has made it mandatory for all solar system users to obtain a license from the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA).
