In a strongly worded statement, the detained leaders of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have demanded the organization of a multilateral conference to address the crisis in the Middle East and the Palestine issue. The leaders, including Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Yasmin Rashid, Aijaz Chaudhry, Omar Sarfraz Cheema, and Mahmood Rashid, made the demand through a statement issued by their lawyer while they are in jail at Kot Lakhpat.
The PTI leaders have stated that the issue of Palestine and the tensions in the Middle East were not discussed in the Parliament. They emphasized that all parties must reaffirm their support for the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination, and that a durable peace is not possible without a two-state solution and justice.
The detained PTI leaders also questioned the legitimacy of Israel’s membership in the Board of Peace and the exclusion of Palestinians from it. They stated that this is not a matter of justice.
Meanwhile, a large tent has been erected at the Gul Plaza Market in Karachi’s Jinnah Park area.
