Russian authorities have revealed that the suspect behind the attempted assassination of General Vladimir Alekseyev has been apprehended in Dubai with the assistance of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and transferred to Moscow. Dmitry Peskov, Kremlin’s spokesperson, stated that the suspect was arrested with the cooperation of Emirati and Russian officials. According to the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB), the attempted assassination of the Russian general was ordered by Ukraine’s Security Service.
Further investigations have revealed that the attack was carried out by a Ukrainian-born Russian national, reportedly affiliated with Poland’s secret agency. The suspect has been transferred to Moscow from Dubai. Peskov also mentioned that Russian President Vladimir Putin thanked the UAE President for the cooperation.
The attempted assassination occurred a few days ago in Moscow. The suspect has been identified as a Ukrainian-born Russian citizen.
In a separate incident, Islamist leader Krishna Nandyal testified in favor of the Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh. A student at the First Air’s law school shot and killed his fellow student and then took his own life using the same pistol.
