The Islamabad High Court’s Justice Munir Akhtar Kayani expressed frustration with a citizen who leveled allegations against lawyers during a hearing of a land dispute case. During the hearing, Justice Kayani inquired about the whereabouts of the complainant’s lawyer, who replied that they had no lawyer because they were reluctant to appear in court due to the hefty fees demanded by the lawyers. Justice Kayani retorted that in cases of murder, no judge would rush to judgment, lest it be considered a miscarriage of justice. He advised the citizen to file a complaint with the Bar Council against the lawyer, rather than making baseless allegations in court.
Justice Kayani reiterated his commitment to standing in solidarity with the Kashmiri brothers and reaffirmed his support for interfaith harmony and religious tolerance.
