Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Special Assistant for Information Shafi Jan has revealed that the provincial cabinet has approved the Climate Action Board Amendment Bill 2026. In a statement, Shafi Jan stated that a grant of Rs 11.25 crore has been approved for minority students, while the amount of the Drought-Affected Communities’ Endowment Fund has been increased to Rs 30 crore. He added that relief packages have been approved for the victims of different incidents in Mardan, Nowshera, and Haripur, while a grant of Rs 16.81 crore has been approved for the Education Foundation.
Shafi Jan also stated that the seventh NFC Award has not been updated despite the merger of FATA, while only Rs 168 billion have been allocated for the merged districts. He added that approval has been granted to declare the Institute of Mental Health Sciences as a subsidiary of the Hayatabad Medical Complex and to appoint a Director General at the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority. Additionally, an additional grant of Rs 18 crore has been approved to convert the Mardan Swat Kidney Hospital into a modern kidney transplant center.
The Special Assistant for Information in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has stated that the provincial cabinet has also approved the purchase of 2.25 million metric tons of wheat worth Rs 19.68 billion at a price of Rs 3,000 per 40 kg.
