Karachi, Pakistan – A power breakdown at the Dhabiji Pumping Station has raised concerns about a potential disruption in the city’s water supply. According to Karachi Water Board’s spokesperson, two lines have been affected due to low water pressure.
K-Electric, the power distributor, attributed the power breakdown to a fault in a main cable at the Dhabiji Pumping Station. Despite this, 18 out of 22 pumping motors continued to receive electricity. K-Electric also stated that alternative sources were being used to supply electricity to the remaining four pumping motors.
In other news, a Pakistani citizen expressed concerns about the treatment of Pakistani prisoners in Cambodian jails, where they face harsh conditions. The spokesperson for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, Alima Khan, demanded that Imran Khan undergo a COVID-19 test and receive treatment in the presence of his family.
The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has waived the license requirement for solar consumers with a capacity of 25 kilowatts or less. Imran Khan met with his wife, Bushra Bibi, after she underwent an eye surgery at a hospital in Islamabad.
