Islamabad High Court Justice Babar Sattar has written a letter to Chief Justice of Pakistan Yaqub Aftab in the matter of judges’ transfer. According to sources, Justice Babar Sattar has requested the Chief Justice of Pakistan to personally hear the transfer matter as the president of the Judicial Commission. In the letter, Justice Babar Sattar has requested that the transfer matter be heard in a commission meeting before Article 200 of the Constitution.
A meeting of the Judicial Commission on the matter of judges’ transfer will be held today at the Islamabad High Court, during which Justice Musarrat Hilali, Justice Babar Sattar, Justice Shahzad Akram, Justice Arbab Tahir, and Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro will be considered for transfer. However, Chief Justice of Pakistan Yaqub Aftab had opposed the meeting to discuss transfer of judges, while Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court Sardar Tariq Masood had called a meeting of the five-member commission with the re-appointment of the members.
