Pakistan’s capital, Islamabad, and its neighboring city, Rawalpindi, are on high security alert as the government implements strict restrictions to maintain law and order. The Federal Government has issued directives for all government offices and institutions to operate from home, while the Islamabad High Court and Federal Court have announced a temporary halt in proceedings. The red zone in Islamabad has been completely sealed off for all types of traffic, with authorities advising citizens to follow alternative traffic plans.
In Rawalpindi, several major intersections, including Faizabad, Pir Wadhai, and 26-Number Chungi, have been closed, while the Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metro Bus Service has been suspended. The district administration in Karachi has also set up a red line office to monitor the situation.
The recent incident of firing on Dr. Saeed in Karachi has led to the registration of a case against unknown suspects. Federal Minister for Information, Fawad Chaudhry, has stated that Iran has yet to respond to Pakistan’s invitation for peace talks.
