Dubai’s prominent businessman Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor has written an open letter to US President Donald Trump and US Senator Lindsey Graham, strongly condemning the demand for Arab countries to join the war against Iran. Al Habtoor, a well-known Emirati businessman, stated that they are well aware of the reasons behind the attacks, and that the entire region was dragged into war without the advice of allies.
In his letter, Al Habtoor accused Senator Lindsey Graham of inciting Arab countries to attack Iran, thanking God that the UAE and Gulf states are safe. He added that putting American citizens and soldiers in harm’s way for Israel’s sake is a choice made by Trump and Graham, and that the UAE would not do the same for Israel’s sake.
Al Habtoor questioned who gave Trump the authority to drag the Gulf and Middle East into a military conflict with Iran. He also accused Senator Lindsey Graham of being more interested in defending Israel’s interests than those of the American people, saying that the UAE does not need their protection and should be left to fend for itself.
The UAE businessman pointed out that Iran wants to control the oil in the region and create a new Middle East, but they cannot deny the threat posed by Iran. Al Habtoor also stated that the UAE pays billions of dollars for American arms, and that gratitude is not necessary.
