Iranian forces’ claim that the United States was not involved in the attack on an elementary school has been backed up by an investigation conducted by The New York Times. According to the investigation, it was an American Tomahawk missile that hit the school, killing over 160 girls. Experts analyzed video footage of the Tomahawk missile hitting a Toman hawk missile at the naval base, satellite images, social media posts, and other videos to demonstrate that the school was damaged at the same time the naval base was targeted. The US Defense Secretary was present at the location at that time.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump had claimed that he believed the school was attacked by Iran. In a conversation with journalists, he said that Iran’s weapons are often inaccurate and that the US was not involved in the attack. Without providing any evidence, Trump said that in his opinion and based on what he saw, the attack was carried out by Iran.
The Tomahawk cruise missile launched by the US hit the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps’ naval base, which was close to the school. US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said that the objective of US attacks was to destroy Iran’s missile program.
Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps spokesperson Ebrahim Dheheb said that the attacks damaged 20 fuel and gas storage tanks, US helicopters, logistics, and support facilities. According to reports, in the nine-day conflict between the US, Israel, and Iran, over 1255 people were killed in Iran, with over 12,000 injured due to US and Israeli attacks.
Trump said that the elimination of Iran’s nuclear threat would lead to a rapid decrease in oil prices, which would be a small price to pay for US and global peace and security. However, during Trump’s presidency, Brent crude oil prices rose to $117 per barrel, leading the G7 countries to take action to reduce oil prices.
Saudi Arabia condemned Iran’s aggression against the kingdom and the Gulf Cooperation Council member states. A woman said that they are in darkness, with no electricity in their homes. Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said that Israel is a sovereign state where all decisions are made in accordance with the law. He added that 60% of government vehicles would be shut down if the law was enforced. Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that Israel would be abandoned, with many passengers being stopped at Ben Gurion Airport. Saudi Arabia condemned Iran’s aggression against the kingdom and the Gulf Cooperation Council member states.
