The recent increase in petroleum product prices has been challenged in the Lahore High Court through a joint petition filed under the Judicial Act. The petition states that the prices of petrol and diesel have been increased by Rs 8 and Rs 16 respectively, which is deemed an unjust and anti-people move by the government. The petitioners argue that the government is not following the global market trend and is increasing prices arbitrarily, which will only lead to further inflation and unemployment in the country.
