Iran’s historic Golestan Palace has been affected by the recent American and Israeli attacks, but fortunately, the treasured artifacts have already been moved to a safe location. According to Iranian news agencies, some parts of the palace were affected by the attacks, but the important historical relics were safely transferred to a secure location beforehand.
US officials have confirmed that the American naval operation is ongoing, and Iranian missiles have not reached the American naval fleet. A report states that the famous Mirrored Throne Room of the palace, which houses valuable artifacts, was transferred to a safe location in January following protests and in June 2025’s 12-day war.
Golestan Palace is a prominent symbol of Iran’s cultural and historical identity and is a part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed that they had targeted the American aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln with four ballistic missiles, and the Golestan Palace complex is located in the heart of the old city of Tehran, near the Grand Bazaar and other historical sites.
The complex spans over 5 acres, featuring 17 gardens, buildings, and pathways, and it takes around 2-3 hours to explore. The palace is over 435 years old and was built in 1588 during the Safavid dynasty. The most significant changes and additions were made in the 19th century during the Qajar era. The palace was home to the Qajar Shah from 1796 to 1925.
The US Central Command (CENTCOM) has stated that Iran is firing missiles from mobile launchers in the region, and the US military is targeting these launchers. The UAE has announced that it will not allow Iranian missiles to pass through its airspace for attacks.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson, Saeed Khatibzadeh, has stated that Iran will not accept any violation of its sovereignty or the protection of its territory. The Qatari Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson, Majeed al-Ansari, has said that Iran did not inform Qatar about the missile attacks before they occurred.
Russia has warned that the war with Iran could escalate nuclear arms competition in the Middle East. The UAE has stated that it will not allow Iranian missiles to pass through its airspace for attacks.
Indian opposition leader Sonia Gandhi has stated that the Indian government has ignored a long-standing ally like Iran. The Qatari Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson has said that Iran did not inform Qatar about the missile attacks before they occurred.
