Islamabad, Pakistan – In a bid to strengthen security and ensure public safety, the government of Pakistan has decided to intensify operations against foreigners living in the country without proper documentation. A high-level meeting, chaired by the Federal Minister for Interior, Captain (R) Khurram Agha, was held in Islamabad to discuss measures to curb the presence of such individuals.
The meeting, which included representatives from the Capital Development Authority (CDA), Inspector General (IG) of Police, and senior police and administrative officials, focused on ensuring the best possible arrangements for security and law and order in the country. The meeting also discussed the recent surge in the number of foreigners living in Pakistan without proper documentation, and the need to take strict action against them.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Interior, the meeting decided to implement a single visa regime on a full-scale basis, and to take action against Afghan nationals living in the country without documentation under the Foreigners Act of 1946. The meeting also agreed to expand the scope of operations against foreigners living in the country without proper documentation, and to increase the presence of police and administrative officials at border crossings and other sensitive areas.
The meeting also decided to increase the security presence at all major locations, including places of worship and important buildings. Speaking to Geo News, IG Islamabad, Ahmad Shahzad, said that the current punishment of Rs 50 million is too low for players involved in match-fixing, and should be increased.
In other news, the government of Pakistan has decided to schedule Hajj flights for Pakistani pilgrims. According to sources within the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the first Hajj flight from Pakistan is scheduled to depart on April 18, and a total of 468 flights will be operated under the government’s Hajj scheme.
