Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s Death Sparks Outrage and Sorrow Across the Muslim World
The death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has sent shockwaves across the Muslim world, with condolences pouring in from leaders and organizations globally. However, the circumstances surrounding his death have sparked widespread outrage and sorrow, as the international community reacts to the devastating US and Israeli attacks on Iran.
In a press conference in Karachi, Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, expressed his deepest condolences to the people of Iran and the Muslim world. He stated that Jamaat-e-Islami will hold a funeral prayer in absentia for Ayatollah Khamenei and that the loss is not just for Iran, but for the entire Muslim nation.
Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman also condemned the US and Israeli regime change talk as a “blatant disregard for international laws” and described their actions as the “worst kind of state terrorism.” He further stated that Pakistan and Afghanistan should engage in dialogue, and that Jamaat-e-Islami is ready to play a role in facilitating these talks.
The Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami also criticized the US and Israel for their history of violating international laws and norms, and for their repeated displays of state-sponsored terrorism. He emphasized that the Iranian attack was a clear violation of international laws and the UN Charter and that the US and Israel have a long history of disrupting peace in the region.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has spoken with Jordan’s King Abdullah II to discuss the rapidly changing situation in the region. The two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to protecting Pakistan’s sovereignty, independence, and dignity at all costs.
According to reports, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps has claimed to have targeted the US aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln in the Gulf with four ballistic missiles. The attack reportedly destroyed an Iranian building and damaged several sensitive installations in the area.
The UAE’s Ministry of Defense has released a statement detailing the damage caused by the Iranian attacks. Protests have erupted across the region, with demonstrators attempting to storm the US consulate and engage in stone-throwing.
In a separate development, China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi has spoken with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov to discuss the situation in the region. Israel has also claimed to have targeted Iran’s central command headquarters in a new wave of airstrikes.
As the situation continues to unfold, leaders and organizations across the Muslim world are coming together to condemn the US and Israeli actions and to pay tribute to Ayatollah Khamenei’s legacy.
