The Taliban militants in Afghanistan have faced a significant defeat at the hands of the Pakistan Army, prompting retaliatory attacks on civilian settlements. According to security sources, the Taliban militants fired mortar shells, which landed in the Laghri and surrounding areas of Bajaur. The security sources revealed that five individuals, including three women, were injured due to the mortar shells falling in Bajaur. The injured individuals were shifted to the Khair Hospital, where they are undergoing treatment.
The security sources stated that the people of Bajaur are extremely outraged by the Taliban’s attacks against Afghanistan. The Pakistan military has responded to the Taliban’s terror attacks with a strong and decisive response. The security forces are always ready to give a befitting response to any cross-border aggression.
In other news, the Sindh Minister for Education, Sardar Ali Shah, has released a report on the Steering Committee meeting held on 12 February 2026 under his chairmanship. The meeting discussed the start of the academic year 2026-2027, the admission schedule, examinations, and regular holidays.
The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, has contacted the Saudi and Turkish foreign ministers. The opposition alliance has held a consultative meeting and made the first contact with the government for negotiations.
