In a major crackdown on law and order, the Punjab Police has been conducting a series of intelligence-based operations across the province, with a focus on Lahore and other major cities. According to a statement released by the Punjab Police, a total of 250 operations have been conducted in the past five days, resulting in the arrest of 28 notorious criminals.
The operations, which have been ongoing since the beginning of the week, have seen police personnel conducting raids and searches on suspected individuals and premises, with a total of 6,139 people being questioned and 28 criminals being taken into custody. The Punjab Police and Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) have also carried out a successful operation in the Makrool area, killing over a dozen terrorists and recovering a large quantity of explosive materials, including a kilogram of explosives, 11 detonators, and 20 safety fuses.
In addition to the intelligence-based operations, the police have also conducted a series of combing operations in various parts of the province, resulting in the recovery of a large quantity of arms and ammunition, including a Kalashnikov, 9 rifles, 35 pistols, and 4 guns. The police have also been able to bring under control a major fire that broke out in a building in the Chaman area, with the help of six fire tenders.
Meanwhile, a tragic incident occurred in the Ghottki area, where five children lost their lives after consuming a poisonous substance, believed to be a pesticide, from a bottle in their home. The health department of Ghottki has confirmed that the deaths occurred over a period of three days in the Alah Baksh Chhajan village of Mirpur Mathelo.
