Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Salman Akram Raja has stated that he and his family are still trying to access their medical professionals and arrange medical examinations, despite requests being filed with the court. However, the Islamabad High Court has yet to hear their requests, with Raja claiming that the court is a “closed door” for them.
In an interview with the media, Raja stated that the court had ordered weekly meetings, with one day reserved for meetings with lawyers and the other day for family members. However, when Raja and the Punjab Chief Minister appeared in court together, they were told to meet with the jail superintendent, but the meeting was not held on the same day.
Raja claimed that a request for contempt of court had been filed, but it was not accepted, and that the court’s refusal to hear their requests was a clear example of its bias. He stated that the court had ordered that cases be heard without meetings, and that both parties be given the opportunity to present their arguments.
Raja also mentioned that he had been ordered to appear in court for a case related to the ex-accounts of PTI’s founder, Imran Khan, but despite not meeting with him, the court had taken action in the case.
The Supreme Court, he said, had ordered the Chief Justice of Islamabad to meet with him, but he was not available, so he had to appear in the open court. Raja also claimed that the court had ordered the parties to present their arguments without meetings, and that the court’s bias was evident in its refusal to hear their requests.
