Sindh’s Senior Minister Syed Sharjeel Memon has claimed that the federal government relies on the People’s Party for assistance at all times, while federal ministers are plotting against the Sindh government. Speaking at a press conference in Karachi, Memon stated that development projects are underway in Sindh, and mega-projects are being completed in Karachi. He added that the Pakistan Armed Forces are courageously fighting against terrorism and that the unfortunate incident in Kohat has received insufficient condemnation.
Memon emphasized that the Sindh government is working on a digital portal and has established the Sindh Electric Regulatory Authority. In a recent cabinet meeting, the Sindh government made significant decisions, and measures have been taken for the business community, with online facilities being provided to traders within 10 days. He also stated that the Sindh government has invested billions of rupees on a coal-based electricity project in Thar and is laying a railway line in the region.
Memon claimed that some individuals are constantly politicizing every issue and spreading despair. In the healthcare sector, he stated that people from all over Pakistan are coming to Karachi for treatment, and that previously, they used to travel abroad for liver transplants. However, now, people are opting for Sindh. His goal is to ensure that no citizen has to travel abroad for medical treatment.
Regarding the law and order situation in Sindh, Memon stated that the police have conducted extensive operations since January 1, resulting in the arrest of 28 robbers, 56 injured, and 18 missing persons recovered. Many ransom cases have also been resolved. He added that Karachi and all districts in Sindh, along with major highways, are safe, and the law and order situation in the city has improved.
Memon acknowledged that challenges exist in Karachi, but he criticized those who target the city to criticize the Sindh government. He compared the city’s population to countries rather than cities and stated that daily, thousands of people from across the country are arriving in Karachi, particularly for medical facilities.
Memon announced that the completion of the Sharea Faisal is near, and its inauguration is expected to take place in the first or second week of April. He also spoke about the Farooq Sattar Plaza commission case, stating that the judge’s claims were baseless.
