Karachi, Pakistan – A devastating explosion occurred in a residential building in the North Nazimabad area of Karachi, leaving one child dead and four others injured. The incident took place in a flat on the 10th floor of the two-story building, where a gas leak led to a blast and subsequent fire.
The rescue operation was hindered due to the narrow streets surrounding the building. However, authorities were able to bring the situation under control, with four fire tenders, a water bomber, and two snorers helping to contain the fire. Cooling operations are still ongoing.
Sindh’s Inspector General of Police (IGP) Javed Odho directed the police to reach the site immediately and ensure the safety of the affected building, its residents, and surrounding areas. The IGP also ordered the police to take strict action against those responsible for the incident.
Sharjeel Memon, a senior minister in Sindh, expressed his condolences and criticized two prominent leaders for their insensitive remarks. He said that if these leaders had studied the constitution and law, they would have avoided making such irresponsible statements.
Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar, another senior minister, claimed that the government is making efforts to resolve the issue through negotiations. He also stated that the Punjab Health Care Commission has launched an investigation into the incident and has taken action against medical practitioners found guilty of negligence.
A tragic incident took place in Lahore, where a woman and her child were allegedly subjected to abuse and forced to flee their home. The police have arrested one person in connection with the incident.
In a separate incident, a girl was allegedly subjected to bad behavior in Karachi’s Leary Chakiwara area. The police have arrested one person in connection with the incident.

In a different development, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders, including former finance minister Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed, have criticized the government’s claims of improving the economy. They claimed that the government is making efforts to resolve the issue through negotiations but has failed to take any concrete steps.
