The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan has announced key appointments in the higher education sector. The new chairman of the HEC, Dr. Niaz Ahmed, has made the announcement in accordance with the directives of the Federal Minister for Education, Dr. Khalid Mahmood Siddiqui. The appointments are aimed at strengthening policy-making, education standards, research, and administrative leadership in the higher education sector.
The HEC has announced the appointment of members on the Strategic Planning Committee, Quality Assurance Committee, and Research, Development, and Innovation Committee for a period of two years, with the possibility of extension. The members will be based in Islamabad and Punjab, while the member for Research, Development, and Innovation will be based in Karachi.
The HEC has also announced the appointment of a Managing Director for the National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE) for a period of two years. The Managing Director will be based in Islamabad and will be responsible for managing the affairs of the NAHE.
The HEC has also announced the appointment of a permanent member of the Academics Committee, with a salary scale of BP-22. The member will be based in Punjab and will be responsible for various duties, including teaching, research, and administration.
The appointments are open to citizens with a Ph.D. degree in any field and a minimum of 20 years of experience. The candidate must have experience in leadership, policy-making, strategic planning, program management, and governance in the higher education sector.
The HEC has also announced the appointment of 50 City Wardens to ensure the security of the market. The appointments are open to citizens with a degree in any field and a minimum of 2 years of experience in security-related work.
