In a remarkable display of endurance and technical mastery, the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) successfully completed a nonstop flight from Pakistan to Azerbaijan, marking a significant milestone in the country’s aviation history and operational capability.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), a PAF contingent comprising skilled air and ground crews arrived in Azerbaijan to participate in the bilateral air exercise “Indus Shield Alpha.” The exercise aims to strengthen cooperation, coordination, and strategic understanding between the two friendly air forces.
During the historic flight, PAF aircraft demonstrated exceptional professionalism by conducting mid-air refueling with precision. The operation was carried out by the PAF’s own IL-78 aerial refueling tanker — an achievement reflecting the Air Force’s advanced training standards, teamwork, and operational readiness for long-range missions.
ISPR further stated that the “Indus Shield Alpha” exercise will focus on enhancing mutual understanding, interoperability, and modern air combat tactics, contributing to stronger defense ties between Pakistan and Azerbaijan.
Aviation analysts hailed the nonstop flight as a symbol of PAF’s growing technological confidence and global operational competence — underscoring Pakistan’s commitment to regional stability and defense preparedness.
