TikTok, the popular short-form video platform, has announced in its latest report that it removed a staggering 24,954,128 videos in Pakistan due to violations of its community guidelines.
In its Q1 2025 Community Guidelines Enforcement Report, TikTok highlighted its ongoing dedication to fostering a secure digital environment for its users. The report indicated a consistently high proactive removal rate in Pakistan, standing at 99.4%, with an impressive 95.8% of these videos removed within 24 hours of being uploaded.
The report, which covers data from January to March 2025, meticulously details the proactive measures TikTok has implemented to identify and eliminate content that infringes upon its Community Guidelines, aiming to ensure a positive experience for its global user base.
Globally, TikTok removed a total of 211 million videos worldwide during this quarter, which constitutes approximately 0.9% of all content uploaded to the platform. Of the removed videos, a vast majority, 184,378,987, were detected and taken down through automated detection technologies, while 7,525,184 videos were later reinstated after further review.
The global proactive removal rate was 99.0%, with 94.3% of the flagged content being removed within 24 hours of its initial posting. The report further specified that a significant portion of the total removed videos — 30.1% — contained sensitive or mature themes that did not align with TikTok’s content policies. Additionally, 11.5% of videos breached the platform’s safety and civility standards, and 15.6% violated privacy and security guidelines.
Furthermore, 45.5% of the removed videos were flagged as misinformation, and 13.8% of the removed videos were identified as edited media and AI-generated content.
