HANGU: A second convoy of 25 vehicles carrying essential goods successfully reached Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Kurram district, the local administration confirmed.
The delivery followed tribal conflicts that kept routes closed for over 100 days, causing severe shortages of essential items.
Relief Operations
Last week, a convoy of 40 trucks also delivered supplies to Kurram.
The government has dismantled bunkers as part of peace efforts under the Kohat agreement.
Negotiations facilitated by peace committees and tribal elders enabled these relief efforts.
Public Concerns
Some tribal elders have deemed the current supplies insufficient and urged the government to ensure additional aid.
Road closures in Parachinar continue to exacerbate hardships despite the peace agreement.
Social activist Mir Afzal Khan called for immediate action to reopen routes and ease the struggles of Upper Kurram residents.
