Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan has refuted claims of backdoor negotiations involving the party founder Imran Khan’s wife, Bushra Bibi.
Speaking to the media outside Adiala Jail on Monday, Gohar stated that the committee formed by Imran Khan was conducting negotiations with the government. He emphasized that two meetings had taken place, but a third round required prior consultation with the PTI founder.
He clarified that Bushra Bibi was not involved in the discussions, calling reports of her involvement false.
Gohar highlighted two primary demands: the release of political prisoners and the establishment of a judicial commission, expressing confidence that Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi would be acquitted in the Al-Qadir case.
PTI Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram accused Punjab’s chief minister of undermining the negotiation process and blamed government insiders for creating hurdles.
Meanwhile, the PTI negotiation committee has requested permission from Adiala Jail authorities to meet with Imran Khan, demanding that the meeting take place in an open area. However, no response has been received yet.
