Police instructed to ensure compliance with arrest warrant.Islamabad: The District and Sessions Court in Islamabad has ordered the arrest of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur in a case involving the recovery of illegal arms and alcohol.
The decision was made after Gandapur and his lawyer failed to appear for the scheduled hearing on Monday.
Court Proceedings
Judicial Magistrate Mubashir Hasan presided over the hearing, expressing dissatisfaction over the non-compliance with court directives. The investigating officer was also absent, further delaying the case.
Case Background
In October 2016, police claimed to have recovered five Kalashnikov rifles, a pistol, six magazines, a bullet-proof vest, three teargas shells, and bottles of alcohol during a raid, leading to charges under the Pakistan Penal Code.
Gandapur’s Stance
Ali Amin Gandapur, a senior PTI leader, has denied the allegations, calling them politically motivated.
