In 2024, security forces and law enforcement agencies conducted 59,775 intelligence-based operations, marking a significant phase in Pakistan’s counter-terrorism efforts. These operations neutralized 925 terrorists, the highest annual count in the past five years.
On average, 169 operations were carried out daily, showcasing coordinated efforts among the military, intelligence agencies, police, and other law enforcement bodies. The neutralized targets included 73 high-value individuals and 27 foreign militants of Afghan origin.
Significant amounts of foreign-manufactured weapons and ammunition were seized during the operations. Timely intelligence-based interventions disrupted multiple terrorist networks and prevented numerous planned attacks.
These initiatives reflect Pakistan’s long-term strategy to combat militancy, building on years of dedicated security operations. The year’s efforts mark a substantial milestone in neutralizing threats and maintaining national security effectively.
