The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) negotiation committee has set January 31, 2025, as the deadline to conclude ongoing negotiations with the government. Party leaders have stated that PTI founder Imran Khan is ready to forgive all unjust treatment in the national interest.
Sahibzada Hamid Raza, Chairman of the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC), during a media interaction, emphasized that Imran Khan remains firm on his primary demands, including the release of political prisoners and the formation of a judicial commission to investigate the May 9 incidents and the November 26 crackdown.
PTI and the government held their first meeting last week, attended by key leaders from both sides. This meeting took place after rising political tensions in recent months.
Hamid Raza accused the government of mistreating PTI workers and violating parliamentary sanctity. He stressed that Imran Khan’s release must follow legal and constitutional procedures, with no political deals involved.
Furthermore, Imran Khan has been in discussions with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and Majlis-e-Wahdat-ul-Muslimeen leader Allama Raja Nasir Abbas regarding resolving the matter swiftly.
These negotiations aim to reach a conclusion by January 31, with the next meeting scheduled for January 2, where PTI will present its proposals to the government committee.
