Pakistan’s Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has arrested 21 terrorists in various cities of Punjab during operations over the past week. According to spokesperson, Lal Masjid’s terrorist Peer Shams was arrested in Lahore with explosives. The terrorist was involved in a plot to carry out a massive explosion.
In another operation, the CTD arrested Bhausaheb Lal Awan’s terrorist Abdul Latif in Toba Tek Singh along with explosive material. The arrest was made with the help of a Facebook ID named Adil, who operated from India. The arrested terrorists were planning to carry out destructive activities at various locations.
The seized explosives, an IED bomb, and a detonator were also recovered from the terrorists.
A total of 15 terrorists, including Mubashir, Sameerullah, Gulab Khan Rehman, Taur Khan, Zarina Shah, Zia-ur-Rehman, Atimullah, and Abdus Samad, were among the arrested individuals.
The CTD said that they will announce their plan of action after Eid and will take to the streets across the country to interact with the public.
In a separate incident, the bodies of five men from different areas of Karachi were found dead. They were apparently addicted to narcotics. A woman had poisoned herself and her children using poisonous pills hidden in a bag of wheat.
