According to the police, 26-year-old Hasham Abu Ghareeb has been charged with the first-degree murder of Jamal Lemmon and his friend Nahida Bristy. The police revealed that the suspect had asked questions about disposing of human remains through a chat platform.
The Bangladesh Embassy in the US has confirmed that the police identified Bristy’s remains after contacting her brother, Zaid Hassan. The family of the deceased has requested that the body be repatriated to Bangladesh. The embassy is working closely with the authorities to facilitate the repatriation process.
Bristy’s brother has also shared that the police had informed them that the DNA test on the human remains found at the residence matched with those of his sister. The police used mobile phone location tracking and surveillance footage to gather evidence, which led to the recovery of Jamal Lemmon’s body on April 24.
