The Israeli government has supplied the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with advanced defense systems, including a state-of-the-art laser-based defense network, to counter potential Iranian missile and drone attacks. According to a report by the British Financial Times, Israel has provided the UAE with modern arms and defense systems to tackle the threat of Iranian missiles and drones. The report states that Israel has provided the UAE with a “Spectro” system, a cutting-edge surveillance system capable of tracking drones, including Iranian-made Shahed drones, at a distance of almost 20 kilometers.
A US-based company, backed by the Trump brothers, has announced that it has signed an agreement with the US Department of Defense (Pentagon) to provide Interceptor drones, although the number of drones is not specified. In addition, Israel has deployed its advanced Iron Beam defense system, designed to destroy short-range rockets and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in mid-air. This system has recently been activated and was used against Lebanese attacks at the start of the year.
Israel has also supplied the UAE with its “Iron Dome” air defense system, while deploying dozens of Israeli military personnel to operate the systems. According to Israeli military sources, the deceased soldier was identified as 19-year-old Sergeant Lym Ben Hamo, a member of the 13th Battalion of the Golan Brigade.
Israel has not only provided the UAE with modern systems but has also shared real-time intelligence on potential Iranian missile attacks. According to sources, some defense systems were still in the testing phase or not fully integrated into the Israeli radar network, highlighting the urgency of this cooperation. This comes after the refinery was damaged in the April 8 Iranian attacks, which also affected three units of the refinery. The British Financial Times reports that Iran had fired over 500 ballistic missiles and more than 2,000 drones at the UAE, with most of them being neutralized by various defense systems.
However, these attacks have increased pressure on defense stocks in the US, Israel, and Gulf countries, as advanced interceptors are expensive and time-consuming to develop. In the current situation, there is an increased demand for cost-effective and more effective defense technologies, particularly laser systems, which can be more effective in detecting and destroying small, low-heat signature drones.
The UAE has announced that it has resumed its air operations in line with normal procedures. Iranian media has released new CCTV footage showing that several brave staff members remained on duty until the last moment despite severe US-Israeli bombardment. According to sources, some internal organs of the deceased, including the brain, heart, and lungs, had turned green during the post-mortem.
